I am particularly anxious for school to start because it means my weekly visits to Farrington Grove Elementary School begin again! I chose to be a part of a very important organization called “Kids Hope”. All it takes is an hour each week to meet with an “at risk” child in the school system that his or her teacher has chosen to need “one on one” attention. My child’s name is Kyran. His is an absolutely adorable kid who comes from a single parent household (boy, do I know about single parent households!). He became very protective of me while we got to know each other. We would read together and always end up playing a game with dominos that was cleverly made up by Kyran. I don’t think that he even knew what the rules were.
Mentoring is a very good way to share your experiences and knowledge with our new and younger members. Take the time to “be there” for questions, and new ideas. Show your members why this is THE “Organization of Choice”!
As a new year begins, open your local meetings to new people, show them what we do and what we are all about. Put your name in the paper, invite the public to educational seminars, share what your accomplishments are and how they to can be an Insurance Professional.
I have already booked a few meetings for the year and hope that when we all meet in September at our first State Meeting that you will bring your calendars so Deb and I can get you in our schedule too!
Sincerely;
Indiana Council Director
